Exercises and Workouts - How To Turn A Regular Workout Into A Fat Burning One!

So you might have begun your journey into the world of fitness and have now been doing your workout program for a number of weeks. Feeling proud, you're ready to step things up and finally tackle your goal of losing weight.

But, how should your workout change? It would only seem to make sense a workout designed to help improve your fitness level would be slightly different to a workout designed to help you burn fat maximally. This thinking is correct. While there are not dramatic changes, there are some important adjustments you must know.

Keep in mind the biggest change when moving from a maintenance plan to one where you are losing weight will come with your diet, so you must be sure you are getting this in place accordingly.

That said, here are the key workout program changes you will want to make...

1. Reduce Your Rest Periods. The first technique is to reduce your rest periods between weight lifting sets. This is going to help increase your overall metabolic rate while also adding cardiovascular benefits into the workout routine as well.

You don't want to reduce the rest periods so much you sacrifice good form, but keeping them to around 30 seconds or so is ideal for optimal fat loss results.

2. Try Superset Training. Next, you'll also want to try supersetting whenever you can. Supersetting involves pairing two exercises back to back, not resting until both exercises are completed. This is a great way to jumpstart sluggish fat loss results while also getting into and out of the gym in a hurry.

Pair together upper body movements with lower body movements or try putting together two opposing muscle groups like hamstrings and quads.

3. Focus On Compound Moves. The next must do for any fat burning program is to focus hard on compound exercises as often as possible. These will give you the best overall calorie burn both during the session, as well as for hours after its completed.

These moves include exercises like squats, deadlifts, bench press, push-ups, lunges, bent over rows, pull-ups, shoulder press, and leg press. Be sure that you at least 70% of your program is compound exercises.

4. Add Cardio Intervals. Finally, also consider adding in some cardio intervals as you move through the plan. This might mean adding a set of burpees between your bench press sets, or jumping rope between your walking lunges.

Both will help torch calories and get you burning up fat rapidly.

If you can make these changes to your workout routine, you can be sure you are transforming your session to one that will incinerate body fat and get you in the best shape of your life.

9 CrossFit Exercises to Lose Weight and Tummy Fat

CrossFit is a series of workout methods primarily intended for enhancing strength and conditioning. It focuses mainly on Olympic style weightlifting but at the same time consists of several routines that aim at developing various physical attributes such as endurance, strength, speed, coordination, balance, and more.

What separates CrossFit workouts from all other methods out there is that majority of those who use it find it effective. Although the training provided in most routines are for strength and endurance, CrossFit is also an effective proponent for losing weight and tummy fat. In fact, all kinds of exercises performed are aimed at burning calories and fat. So now let's find out nine of the most ideal CrossFit exercises for losing weight and tummy fat.

1. Cindy Routine

The Cindy routine is a full body strategy that is composed of pushups and body weight squats. It has a time frame of 20 minutes. It can be performed the next day and the athlete must ensure that there is progress. This routine is an effective fat-burning exercise because it is short, quick, and works your entire body. It is specifically designed to add up muscle in the chest and shoulders while at the same time allowing a high work rate for fast calorie and fat burning.

2. Filthy 50

Filthy 50 is a very rigorous and demanding CrossFit workout that requires you to perform 50 reps with ten kinds of exercises. The list includes box jumps, pull-ups, kettleball swings, lunge steps, lifts, push press, back extension, ball shots, burpee, and double unders. It is obvious that this routine is physically demanding - which also means that it can maximize the amount of calories burned in just one session alone.

3. Thrusters and pull ups

This routine is done repetitively. You can start with the maximum number of thrusters and pull ups you can perform and then you cut the number down in the repetition. This routine is likewise an effective means of shedding some stomach and tummy fat.

4. L-sit

Sit-ups will always be the best form of abs and stomach exercise. Just like the L-sit, you can lose a significant amount of excess part in the mid section by performing a routine where the body is supported by the arms while the legs are held straight in front.

5. Double under

The double under is a jump rope routine that will surely give you an adrenaline rush. It is performed by jumping over a rope and making sure that the rope passes twice before you land. It requires a higher work capacity, which in turn results to greater amounts of weight and fat burned.

6. Fast run and pull ups

You lose more sweat and burn more calories when you go for a run. Distance exercise routines are always an effective way of losing excess weight, not only that, if you pair it with pull ups, you'll be improving not only your stamina, but arm and upper body strength as well.

7. Dip

The dip is a good routine exercise for improving a muscle group, not just one. For instance, the ring dip routine gives you added strength and balance while you manage to stabilize the rings in both sides of your body. Upper body strength is the focus, but the same as the others we mentioned, it requires strength and power to perform. This corresponds to tons of effort and sweat - making you burn fat and lose weight.

8. Dead lift + run

Dead lift and running are two potent exercises that can certainly give you the right means of losing weight and tummy fat. In this routine, you are to perform a series of dead lift sets and then run for 1.5 miles. This is done with repetition until you show progress.

9. Double under + sit-ups

We mentioned earlier about the benefits of double under and how tough it can be. If you combine it with sit-ups, you're getting the right combo for getting rid of that tummy fat and make your midsection a lot more attractive to look at.

On a final note, one should remember though that every type of exercise or workout routine can never be considered as effective when it comes to losing weight when it is not combined with a healthy and balanced diet. So do not try to engage in Crossfit exercises if you are convinced of practicing a healthy diet.

The Best Exercises To Lose Fat Fast

I don't care why you would like to do fat loss exercises some of you are really suffering from a fat body while others want to lose fat to get a leaner body. Most people are already aware that nutrition plays a very important role to get rid of excess body fat. Notice that I use the word nutrition and not diet. Following a conventional diet results in muscle loss, if you lose muscles your metabolic rate slows down. I guess that you even follow a diet which is not recommended. But keep this in mind it if you don't do fat loss exercises you will never get that lean body you are dreaming of.

1) Weight lifting.

A very effective exercise to burn body fat is weight lifting. Most people are relating weight lifting exercises with bodybuilding and yes indeed it increase the muscle mass. It is as simple as one, two, three the more muscles you have the more fat you will burn. The main benefit of weight lifting is that it burns the most calories after the workout. A higher repetition doesn't mean more results an effective workout doesn't take longer then 45 minutes.

2) HIIT training.

Perhaps you have heard already that cardio training is a very effective way to lose body fat. This is true but most people concentrate them on the duration of the program. Much more important is the intensity of your workout. In case you don't know it HIIT training stands for high intensity interval training. An example of a HIIT training workout can be one minute walking/one minute jogging. Be warned this is very effective to burn a lot of calories but if you do it correctly you will be tired like a dog.

3) Running.

Another great cardiovascular exercise to lose fat fast is running. But you need to think twice before adding running into your fat burning workouts. If you want to build muscles as well then running is not recommended, just take a look you won't find professional runners who are looking like a bodybuilder. An extra benefit of running although not directly related to fat loss is that you can do it outdoors.

4) Rowing (machine)

If your goal is to lose fat and increase muscles mass rowing must be added to your exercise programme. Rowing is probably the highest fat burning exercise and it is recommended to do if you want to train your entire body. But caution this exercise is not recommended if you suffer from lower back pain.

I think you understand now that losing fat is not complete without exercising. Keep in mind you won't see results without taking massive action.

3 Effective Facial Exercises to Lose Face Fat Fast And Get A Lean, Firm And Young Face

Face fat is a major concern for a lot of people. After all, the face is the only place that is always visible, and always reveals the state of your health, for better or for worse. However, the good news is that you can lose face fat fast, with discipline and exercise. Here are some simple exercises to burn facial fat, and with these you should see a marked difference within weeks.

How Facial Exercises Help

You may already be aware of the fact that weight loss is not a process that you can restrict to any one part of the body. In order to lose weight, you have to burn more calories than you consume, and gradually your body will burn its fat reserves from everywhere.

However, with specific facial exercises, you can tone the muscles of your face. This will give your face a firmer and leaner look, and a more defined structure. Combine these exercises with any regular weight loss exercise regime, and you have the best answer to lose face fat fast.

1. The Smiling Exercise

Smiling is one of the most natural facial expressions, and an excellent facial exercise. For this exercise, smile as wide as you possibly can. Now hold your smile, and turn your head around slowly in every direction, from left to back to right and then back to the center. Now release the smile gently. Make sure your movements are not jerky. Repeat this 10 times, twice a day. It is an excellent way to tone your cheek muscles.

2. Open Your Mouth Wide

This exercise is perfect to lose your double chin. To begin with, open your mouth as wide as you can and stretch it out as much as possible. Now hold it this way for a couple of seconds, and then slowly release the strain. Repeat this 10 times each, thrice a day.

3. Blow Air In

This is a good exercise for correcting frown lines and toning your chin and cheeks. Curl your upper and lower lips inwards, open your mouth very slightly and blow air into your mouth. Fill in just enough air so that the areas around your mouth puff out, but not your cheeks. Hold this for 6-8 seconds, and then release the air. Repeat this twice a day, 10 times each.

Remember, your facial muscles are like any other muscles in the body. With exercise and toning they will get stronger and get a leaner and firmer appearance. However, just make sure you don't do these exercises to lose face fat in public!

You Need a General Exercise Regime

As mentioned earlier, localized facial exercises will help you tone your facial muscles, but not actually lose face fat. For that, you will need a more comprehensive exercise program, which includes calorie burning cardiovascular exercises and muscle toning exercises for the major muscle groups of the body.

As far as cardio exercises go, if you are pressed for time, brisk walking or jogging for 20-30 minutes a day may be the best ideas. Walking is something that can even be incorporated into your regular daily routine.

Muscle toning will improve your metabolism, so you will be able to burn more calories even at rest, and this will help you lose face fat, along with the rest of your body fat, quickly. There are several excellent muscle toning exercises that can be done in your living room without any equipment.

If you get serious about these exercises to burn facial fat, you will see the results in a matter of weeks!

3 Exercises to Help You Effectively Lose Belly Fat

Belly fat is the most dangerous fat there is. I'm not talking about the belly fat that lies on top of your stomach muscles. What I'm talking about is the subcataneous fat that lies around the organs in your abdominal area. This fat is much harder to get rid of. If you want to get fit and stay healthy, then this is the fat you need to target. The best part is that you will also target that fat on top of your belly too.

You will want to combine these exercises. By combining these exercises, you will reduce your overall body fat too, strengthen your core, reduce the size of your waistline and feel healthier.

1. Cardio

There is no way to target just your belly fat. In order to get rid of it, you must target overall body fat. Long slow boring cardio won't work. Although exercise will make you feel better and burn calories, it won't help you burn fat the way you need to in order to get rid of your belly fat.

The key here is to add intensity. Shorter more intense workouts will help you burn this fat. Tabata, which is a four minute exercise routine, is one of the fastest ways to help you burn fat. If you are just getting started, Tabata probably isn't for you. That doesn't mean you don't have a way to add intensity.

If you walk, which is really good for you especially if you suffer from depression, consider adding intense intervals. Throw in a few sprints to help you. You only need about five 30 second sprints during a 30 minute walk to help change the way your body burns fat. Again, this is where intervals will help you.

When exercising you want to make sure you don't get to the point of being completely out of breath. This pushes you into the anaerobic zone, and your body is no longer burning fat. Make sure you are out of breath but just enough so you have to breathe deeply.

2. Strength Training

A good abdominal workout will help you reduce the overall size of your waist. It will also help you burn fat by increasing some of your muscle. A pound of muscle takes up less space than a pound of fat.

If you want to get the most effective workouts available, consider a total body weight training program that builds all your muscles and strengthens your core too. Martial arts type exercises are also another way of building strong core. These exercises rely on stability and help you build strength and endurance.

3. Yoga and stretching

The most important reason for doing a yoga or stretching routine is that it helps you reduce stress. One of the leading contributors to belly fat is a high level of cortisol. If you have a high level of cortisol, a stress hormone, it makes it very easy to pack on stomach fat.

Exercise, particularly anything that makes you relax, will help you reduce cortisol and increase the number of feel good hormones, endorphins. When you shift these hormones, it makes it easier to burn the fat and keep it off.

It is important to make sure that you incorporate all three types of exercise in your routine so you get a balanced workout. You will not only look better, you will feel better. It takes a lot less exercise than you think. The proper routine can give you a great workout, meet your goals and only require 30 minutes or less per day.

How to Lose Belly Fat in Just Minutes

If you are like me then you do not like spending money on a gym membership that costs a bundle but is hardly used. If you look to lose belly fat in just minutes then you have come to the right place. It is quite intense but very brief and includes a very aggressive cardio workout. The workout takes only minutes and burns up a couple hundred calories at a shot, not bad huh?

So, here it the method on how to lose belly fat:

Start by running in place or alternatively you can do jumping jacks. Spend about two to three minutes doing one of these exercises as intensely and quickly as possible. It may be difficult but it is one of the most important parts of the workout so make sure you do it right. Remember to focus on the fact that you are losing weight.

Next, you will be doing an exercise called the "Mule Kick." The right way to do this exercise is to stand with your feet right below you and try and kick both legs up toward your buttocks. Essentially, it will feel like you are trying to kick your backside. You need to do this exercise for two to three minutes with this exercise and watch the belly fat go goodbye.

OK, here is the next two minutes: Hit the floor for some good old fashioned pushups. Make sure you do the pushups so that your arms are parallel with the ground. In other words, make sure your body goes all the way down to the point that it all but touches the ground but does not actually do so.

Now, you spend the next two minutes going back to doing the running in place or doing jumping jacks. Once again, remember to think of the fact that you are losing body fat. The more you get into the workout the more the belly fat sheds. The key is to keep up the intensity while doing these exercises for the few minutes that you are involved in them.

In these last two minutes you should ride a stationary bike on the highest level possible for two minutes. This part is critical to the entire workout and if you are seriously want to lose belly fat in minutes then you have to use this time of critical mass to "go for it."

On a final note: make sure you do these exercises on an empty stomach as this is proven to be one of the most important things you can do in order to lose belly fat.

Swimming Workouts For Abs - Does Swimming Burn Belly Fat?

Doing swimming workouts is an excellent way to stay in shape and burn some calories, but is this really an effective way to burn belly fat? Are swimming workouts good for your abs?

As swimming is a cardio workout that does get your heart pumping, your muscles straining, and your body moving, it does burn calories and body fat. It doesn't target belly fat specifically, no, but it does help to reduce fat from all over your body, your stomach included.

If you're going to be swimming a lot and your goal is to lose lots of belly fat and get flat abs, you will need to keep in mind that swimming is not a recreation or just a fun filled activity any more. You're going to have to get serious about it if you want to see the best fat burning results from it.

I recommend that you set some preliminary and long term goals for what you wish to achieve with swimming.

As the levels of your belly fat and muscle tone depend on more than just your workouts (other factors include your diet, sleep habits, lifestyle, and so on), I want you to set goals of laps and speeds to determine how well you're progressing in the pool.

The purpose of setting goals is not to become the next Michael Phelps but to give you something measurable to strive for, to work hard to achieve. If you're determined to be able to complete 50 laps in 6 months, you will put in a lot more effort in the pool to achieve this. This will make you workout harder will will also be good for your abs.

Swimming is an excellent way to burn belly fat because it involves a few elements that all contribute to rapid calorie and fat burning:

1. Swimming is an excellent, fat burning cardio workout. It burns fat all on its own.

2. Swimming workouts are also strength workouts. You're actually building muscle tissue and getting a cardio workout at the same time.

3. You're working your entire body while in the pool and burning more calories as a result.

As you can see, working out in the pool can be a very good way for you to lose some body fat, get in shape, and improve your physical fitness level. I urge you take this sport seriously and you will get the best results.

8 Ways to Burn Belly Fat Without Exercise

Looking to burn belly fat without exercise? Or, if you are like me, searching for additional ways to burn belly fat beyond traditional exercise. Here are some great ways to increase your metabolism without getting on an exercise machine, lifting a dumbbell or doing abdominal routines.

1) Walk

Walking has been heavily documented as the best thing for sedentary people to add to lose weight permanently. Everyday find opportunities to walk more often. To the corner store, around the house, or in place. It really does not matter as long as you walk at least 30 minutes daily. Consistently increase your walking pace to 3.5 miles per hour.

2) Stand Up

Standing burns 33% more calories than sitting. Be sure to stand for a total of 3 hours daily to burn belly fat. Next time you find yourself sitting on the couch watching TV, Stand Up! For an increased effect walk in place as you watch TV.

3) Suck In Your Stomach

Yes, merely sucking in your stomach will tighten up your belly and strengthen the muscles underneath your future six-pack. Here's what you do - Suck in your stomach as far as you can (Pull inwards, not squeezing). Focus on pulling in your belly button as far as you can. Hold for 5 seconds, keep breathing, and release. Rest for 10 seconds and repeat, this time focus on pulling in from the top of your belly. Alternate. You will feel the burn.

Start off with 10 reps twice a day. Over the next two weeks increase the frequency and the duration of sucking in your stomach farther and farther, more and more often, holding it longer and longer. In your car, at your desk, walking, remember don't hold your breath. Eventually you want to get to the point where you are doing it constantly and unconsciously.

4) Turn Off The TV

People who watch television for 3 hours daily or more are 60% more likely to be or become obese. Watch TV for an hour a day and find something else to do. Garden, clean, build something, whatever as long as you find yourself moving.

5) Breathe

Did you know the number one method to eliminate waste from our bodies is exhaling? When you burn fat, your body creates a lot of toxins that must be eliminated. If you have ever had a science course you will undoubtedly be familiar with the fact that mass cannot be created or destroyed, only converted. When you burn wood, the mass of the wood is converted to energy and gas. The same thing happens when we burn belly fat in our bodies. We in essence, breathe out all the fat.

If you were sealed in a glass container that just happened to be sitting on a scale, and you lost 40 pounds, the scale would not show the weight loss. Why? Because the weight of all the fat lost would be trapped in the air of the sealed glass container. What I am trying to say is, breathe! Practice deep breathing exercises, short breathing techniques and any other breathing exercise that interests you.

6) Take a Bath

Do not worry, this is not as easy as it sounds. Here we are talking about cold water immersion. Water cold enough to make you shiver. Fifteen minutes of shivering is equal to jogging for 15 minutes. In their training, Navy SEAL's are forced to sit in the ocean as waves crash over them for up to an hour. This is not warm water, rather 45-50 degree water. Due to the severity of this training, SEAL's are constantly monitored for hypothermia. This is not recommend or endorsed.

Instead there are two techniques endorsed to burn belly fat.

A) Fill a bath tub with very cold water to ankle height. Get in. Walk in place 2-4 minutes. This is much more bearable than what the Navy does, but yet still triggers an increase in your metabolism that lasts quite awhile.

B) Take a bath as normal but instead fill the tub as high as possible with water at room temperature, 70 degrees. The water should not feel warm, but rather cool. Get in, read a book, practice your breathing exercises, etc. for 30-60 minutes. Drink ice water to speed the effect.

After 10-15 minutes you will find your body slightly shivering. This is good, but do not push it. When your body tells you it's time to quit, get out. There is no need to rush. In time you will be a pro at burning belly fat trough cold water immersion without risking your health.

7) Take A Steam Bath

Sweating is an excellent way of detoxifying. But, do not do this after your cold water immersion, the effect on your metabolism would be lost. You can artificially cause your body to sweat by taking a sauna or a steam. When your body is hot by fever, exercise or by steam, your heart rate increases. Blood circulation increases to cool the body, perspiring takes energy, thus burning calories and releasing hundreds of toxins. Another excellent method to burn belly fat.

Please, do not be mistaken. I am not recommending dehydration. In fact I recommend drinking lots of water, even bring water in with you to stay hydrated. Make sure it's HOT water, cool water will defeat the purpose. If you are dehydrated you will not sweat as much, if at all.

Start with 10 minutes but keep 20 minutes as the maximum. No access to a steam? No problem. Have a seat on your toilet, turn the shower on, HOT, with the door closed and the fan off. You can also put a sauna suit on to increase the effect. Drink lots of water. You could even walk in place to burn additional calories.

8) Do what the Shaolin Monks Do

Technically, I guess you could call some of these techniques exercise, however these will firm you up, and make you tougher than weight lifting, without touching a dumbbell.

A) Stand with your arms straight at your sides and your elbows locked. Forcefully press your palms down and raise your straight fingers back quickly. Repeat 49 times. You should feel this in your forearms and triceps. Do this daily and your arms will be as firm as a wood board.

B) Stand with your arms at your side. Imagine a fly at chin level at the edge of your reach. Forcefully, fluidly, throw your arm up with your left shoulder focusing on speed. Imagine catching the fly in your vertical fist, and squeeze it as hard as you can. Hold it for a second. Now, throw the right arm up and squeeze, then throw the left fist up and squeeze hard. Repeat 49 times. This will firm up the arms, chest, shoulders and improve your coordination.

C) Stretch your arms straight out in front of you. Spread your legs wider than shoulder width and squat down 1/4 of the way. Pause. Stay in this position as long as you can, aiming for 5 minutes to start. Keep your arms up. If you can only hold this for 30 seconds. No problem. Stand up, rest a moment and repeat until you have reached 5 minutes. This will tone your legs like no other exercise can. Shaolin Masters can squat down to parallel and keep their arms outstretched for an hour, easily.

Some of you may not think these are easy ways to lose weight, but they will cause your body to burn belly fat while burning body fat. Follow these tips for burning body fat with our recommended diets, or better yet, add them to the burn belly fat exercise routine to speed your results.

However, it is now running slower and not as good as when you first got it. Why? It's because its clogged with useless information, taking up a lot of memory. If you start to delete some of the memory the computer will start to run faster and more efficient.

Our bodies, like computers, collect "memory" or really, calories from food. Our food gives us the energy to keep going on a daily basis. When you overeat and clutter your body with unneeded energy, it saves some for later because its already got enough to run on. When you do this, you gain weight. However, on the flip side if we take away some energy(calories) our bodies will start to burn what it has already for its dose of energy.

So, now that we got through that let's start putting it to good use.

Step 2: Find out how many calories(energy) your body needs to stay at the weight you are.

This is such an important step because it is the foundation for the diet that we will create for ourselves. To find out how many calories you need, simply conduct a Google search with the phrase "daily calorie maintenance calculator" and many free options will come up. Pick one and start to enter your information (height, weight, activity level) so that the calculator can tell you how much you need.

Great, once you have that its time to put everything together. So, let's say that you're 6'1 ft weight at 210 lbs. The calculator told you that you need about 2,300 calories a day to stay where you are. We are going to cut 20-30% from this number to lose weight. That's about 460 calories. So, if we cut 460 calories from 2,300 we can GUARANTEE weight loss, it's that simple.

Step 3: Sign up to a calorie tracking website.

The beauty of these websites is that they are completely free and offer such great communities for people to come together to accomplish the common goal of losing weight. Two examples include myfitnesspal and caloriecount. When you sign up, you enter your information and they set you up with how many calories you have to burn each day and you go on from there.

You enter in the food you ate for the day and it tells you all the nutritional values as well as how many calories you have left remaining for the day. This is crucial because if you're able to maintain a calorie deficit, you WILL lose weight. This is science! It is fact!

These websites also have such an encouraging community whose main focus is the same as yours! You already have something in common with everyone so why not make friends and make this journey that much better.

Step 4: What to eat?

The biggest question of them all. You aren't going to believe what I'm going to say but I assure you that science will never let you down. You can eat... WHATEVER you want. That's right. I said it.

Now, let's not get carried away. Do you think that eating 10 slices of pizza a day will help you lose weight? Of course not. You have to always be thinking in terms of how many calories you have that day. Let's say you have a very light breakfast and lunch. You come home from work and haven eaten anything. You estimate you have about 1200 calories left. There's a lot of leeway here and you can basically eat anything you want in moderation.

Even if you grab 2 slices of pizza ~400 calories, you'll still be losing weight for that day because you have created a large enough deficit for this to happen. It's not rocket science people!

Step 5: How often to eat?

There is a huge myth about eating every 3 hours and keeping your metabolism high. This is true and if you do eat every 3 hours more power to you. However, today in our busy lives we're lucky if we get to sit down for 3 meals a day.

Don't stress over WHEN to eat, stress over about WHAT to eat and HOW MUCH.

Remember, anything in moderation is fine and as long as you're keeping with your calories goal, you'll be on your way to a slimmer you.

Another myth is that eating at night will make you gain more weight. This couldn't be more wrong! Eating at night is just like eating at any other time in the day. Also, if you find yourself getting home at night with 1000+ calories left for the day don't starve yourself because you think eating at night is bad. Grab a few healthy snacks and always remember to keep track of your calories no matter what!

Step 6: Water, water, water

Drink Water! And plenty of it! Sometimes our bodies think that we're hungry when in reality we're just really dehydrated. Water is the life fuel of planet earth. If we ran out of water, we wouldn't last for more than a month, tops.

Instead of drinking extra calories, replace any soft drink in your diet with water. You'll be amazed at how effective this is at cutting weight. If you drink a can of soda a day, you'll be taking in about 200 calories a day roughly. If you multiply that by 30 days, you'll get a little over 3,500 calories... a pound of fat! So, if you start by eliminating that soda, you'll be saving a pound of fat a month. Not bad at all.

Step 7: Lift Weights

Yes, you knew this was coming. Lifting weights isn't absolutely necessary for burning belly fat, but it makes it THAT much quicker. It is known that a pound of muscle burns more calories than a pound of fat, even when you're sitting down or sleeping. That being said, the more muscle you have in your body, the more calories you'll be burning, doing NOTHING.

How awesome is that? Also, whenever you work out you'll be burning tons of calories that will actually let you eat a little more of what you want to. You won't have to be too picky about what to eat because you'll know that you'll just burn those calories off.

The calorie count websites that I mentioned earlier all have calculators that let you log what you worked out and for how long. In turn, they'll tell you how many calories you burned and they'll add that to how many calories you have left for the day. Don't skip out on weights if you have access to them. Not only will they help you lose weight, your body will look much better once you've lost it.

Step 8: Cardio!

Cardio should be in everyone's fitness schedule. It is so good for your heart health and also great for losing weight. If you add only 20-30 minutes of cardio a day, you'll have such an easier time losing weight.

Some types of cardio include walking, running, the elliptical, biking, etc. Don't be afraid to mix it up because it keeps your body guessing. Cardio is also good because it puts your body into a mode where it'll keep burning calories well after you're done with your work out.

One of my favorite cardio workouts is actually jump roping. This easy to do workout burns TONS of calories and its actually FUN! A jump rope session of about 20-30 min can easily burn 400+ calories.

Step 9: Take pictures and toss out your scale!

Get rid of that scale. Your weight is going to fluctuate on a daily basis and if we have a scale nearby we're going to want to see our results. Well, if you don't have a scale how can you see results? Pictures.

Pictures are great because they remind you of the progress and you can see it visually. Once you see your progress you'll stay focused and motivated. It gives you the confidence that what you're doing IS working.

The trick is to not take pictures too often. Try to take 1 every 2 weeks. Every 2 weeks take a picture and track your results. You'll be surprised to see how much your body changes in 2 weeks. Once you see that first picture and you notice subtle changes you'll start to get excited and don't be surprised if you increase your cardio or workout. That's what motivation does.

Step 10: Never give up!

This is the last step, and the most crucial. Many people give up because you don't lose weight overnight. It just isn't possible. You need patience and perseverance to keep consistent. You have to have faith that its working because if you don't, you'll go back to your old overeating habits.

The key is motivation and if you stay motivated daily, you'll realize that each day is one step closer to your goal. If you REALLY want to lose weight you HAVE to put the time and dedication in. Don't take 2 steps forward and 5 steps back. Take 2 baby steps forward every day and soon you'll arrive at your destination.

If you follow these 10 basic steps, you'll definitely lose weight. No matter how long it takes, remember that if you take it one day at a time, you'll get there. Weight loss isn't rocket science, it is BASIC science.

If you get only one thing from this article, remember that it is calories in vs calories out. This is gold! Keep your calories at a deficit and you'll see the weight loss you've always been dreaming about. Good luck on your journey!

Lose Belly Fat - What is the Most Vital Step?

How to lose belly fat is a very frequently asked question because of the massive number of people who are suffering from being over weight. First and foremost you need to decide, once and for all, that you in fact want to lose belly fat for good and are ready to put in the time and effort, given that there is no miracle approach to lose belly fat instantly. To get a toned flat belly you will need to lose the fat that is covering your stomach muscles. The best method to lose belly fat is a combination of changing your eating habits, and doing multi-joint workouts to lose your existing stomach fat. Although losing stomach fat is among the most difficult aspects of weight loss, by following the correct diet and exercise routine it is possible to lose belly fat in 2 weeks. While trying to lose belly fat it is imperative that you have a positive attitude. Once you lose belly fat you will have more energy and feel a lot better.

Diet

Diet is the key to losing abdominal fat - exercise only helps so much. Diets high in acidic foods cause the body to break down prematurely, the bloodstream takes these (acid bombs) all through the system wreaking havoc in their wake. We're all aware that lack of exercise and a diet of burgers and fries will cause our bellies to bloat and expand, but who believed that those late nights at the office, the stress of that big project or the hidden trans fats in our preferred vending machine snacks were adding dangerous inches to our midsections also. If you stick to with any of these fad diets like, extremely low-carb, low-fat, the grapefruit diet, the soup diet, or anything else that restricts 1 or more of the macro-nutrients (protein, carbs, and fat), most of the time you will actually lose lean muscle and lower your metabolic rate. It's important to stop falling for the fad diet gimmicks and understand that as humans, we are intended to eat a balanced diet full of a various array of foods from healthy natural sources of carbohydrates, proteins, AND fats. A diet rich in whole grains changes the glucose and insulin reaction in your body, which hastens the melting of fat. The visceral fat, that deep layer of fat, is easier for your body to burn than the subcutaneous fat under your skin (the fat that you can see and grab). Studies suggests that a diet with a higher ratio of monounsaturated fats (avocados, nuts, seeds, soybeans, chocolate) can prevent the accumulation of both types of belly fat. A diet that takes most of its carbs from fruits and vegetables, as opposed to refined flours, is healthier.

Exercise

Although exercise is not key (diet is) it is still essential. Exercise keeps you fit and strengthens your body, but does not make you lose weight on its own. Exercise is the second most vital fat busting action you can take to dieting. The truth is, losing abdominal fat does NOT take place by doing exercises that target the stomach area. The bulk of your time ought to be spent focusing on big multi-joint exercises that work the biggest muscle groups of the body like the legs, chest, and back. Focusing on big multi-joint workouts for the main portions of your body greatly increases your metabolic rate both during the workout, and for 24-48 hours after the workout. You basically don't get this type of metabolic and hormonal response by wasting most of your time with "abs-pumping" exercises. the focus needs to be on big multi-joint exercises at a elevated intensity. Aerobic exercise will facilitate fat loss all over your body, including your belly. Even if some research has indicated that reducing small amounts of fat from a specific area of the body may be possible with exercise, it is not possible to target weight loss.

Together

To lose belly fat, eating correct and exercising frequently needs to become a routine, not just something you do when you "have the time". Once you lose belly fat you will have more energy and feel a lot better. Losing fat doesn't have to be overcomplicated. Losing stomach fat is a change many people need to make. I know it would seem tough to do though, once you get the hang of it, things fall into place and you are well on your way to losing weight.

Help Me Lose This Belly Fat - 10 Steps to Losing Your Belly FAT FOR GOOD!

You Want Help Losing Your Belly Fat?

As a personal fitness trainer, one of the most frequently asked questions I hear often is...

"Felicia, how can I get rid of my belly fat?" or "Felicia, I need help getting rid of this gut, girl!

I've tried almost everything short or surgery but nothing has worked!"

When I ask that same person what specifically have they've tried in the past,

Here are some of the responses I get...

100 sit-ups every day
200 crunches a day

Excess cardio(treadmill, elliptical machine for an hour)
Zumba classes
H Cg drops
Fat burners, etc.

You don't need endless sit-ups, crunches, supplements, starving yourself, H Cg drops, Mesdoderm injections (yes, I've tried those too) or worse... surgery. Zumba is fun to do, but it's NOT going to help you get rid of your belly fat.

Here's the SECRET RECIPE to losing your belly fat: Eat Healthy.

Move On Purpose for 30 minutes a day.

Eat Healthy. You may have heard me say it before... "abs are built in the kitchen". You can train hard & build muscular abs, but if you eat junk food all day, you won't lose your belly fat.
Stop eating processed food. Eat whole, unprocessed foods.
Limit your alcohol. What you drink is as important as what you eat so don't drink Your calories. You can pretty much forget about losing your belly fat if you drink beer & sweet liquor daily. Beer drinkers normally have a pear shape with belly fat & man boobs - especially as they get older. Alcohol also stresses your liver and makes it harder to clear the toxins... which slows down or prevents muscle growth.
Drink a gallon of water daily to flush the fat away. Flavor your water naturally with a squeezed lemon or lime and green tea.
Reduce your simple carbs. You need carbs for energy, however, the problem is that most people eat more carbs than they need. Your body will hold on to the carbs it doesn't need as fat. And this is how you get belly fat.
Keep eating fruits & veggies with each meal.
Limit white potatoes, pasta, rice and breads.
Eat More Real Food. Eating tons of healthy foods won't make you fat. Especially not if you exercise 2-3 times a week.
Starving yourself is the number 1 nutritional mistakes.
Clean Eating, Resistance Training and a little cardio is a must for successful weight loss.

Don't want to give up the junk food, alcohol or processed foods? That's cool... you can forget about losing your belly fat.

5 Easy Steps to Lose Belly Fat

Are you suffering from excess belly fat that won't budge no matter what you do?

Have the flashy infomercials convinced you that your belly fat is directly related to stress and that they have the miracle pill that will get rid of it with no effort on your part?

Are clever marketing ads suggesting your can rid your stubborn belly fat by investing in their "breakthrough" ab-machine?

Not only is belly fat unattractive, it's unhealthy. You're probably aware of this and have tried to do something about it, haven't you?

Let's face it. You've tried everything and nothing has worked thus far. Stop playing games with yourself. This is your body and your health, and it's about time you got the TRUTH about how to lose belly fat.

Fact #1 on How to Lose Belly Fat - As frustrating and harsh as this may sound, it needs to be said. You will NEVER lose belly fat by doing countless crunches every day. If so, wouldn't most people have them by now? You can do crunches until you are every color of the rainbow in the face and it WILL NOT get rid of belly fat.

Fact #2 on How to Lose Belly Fat - Fancy and expensive ab-machines won't get rid of belly fat. Most the ab-gadgets marketed focus on spot reducing, suggesting to the consumer that all they need to do is use their "state-of-the-art" ab-device and they will get rock hard abs.

Fact #3 on How to Lose Belly Fat - Fat-loss potions and other "miracle" quick fixes will not get rid of belly fat. Many marketing companies wait for the next new piece of "scientific evidence" to emerge so they can use just enough "scientific fact" to create a product and make extravagant claims that hit the consumer at the emotional level.

Fact #4 on How to Lose Belly Fat - Fad diets are the worst of all the belly fat scams. Fad diets prey upon the desperate. They evoke restriction and deprivation, cause a loss of muscle, bone, and water, and in the end, completely destroy the metabolism.

What You CAN Do To Lose Belly Fat I know what you are probably thinking at this point and I now have you completely depressed. Alas, I'm going to tell you how to lose that belly fat you hate and have been trying to get rid of.

If you implement these methods I'm about to discuss, you will begin to notice your mid-section decreasing in size and belly fat will slowly melt off, the right way. When you take fat off the right way, it's less likely to return. The idea is to create control and then maintain that control.

Keep in mind that this is not a "quick-fix" and you will not see results overnight. Sorry, but I speak the truth. What you can expect is:

Continual belly fat loss over the course of several weeks or more

To have less cravings

Feel the changes as well as see them

To increase your health and self-esteem

Lose Belly Fat Rule #1 - Detox your body and organs. Studies show that a body that's been purged of impurities functions better than one loaded down with toxins. Cleaning your intestinal track is the first step to good health.

Lose Belly Fat Rule #2 - Clean up your eating habits. The eating rules are to eat natural food derived from the earth. Eat a small balanced meal every 3 hours. Taper off complex carbs toward the end of the day. Doing these small, yet effective dietary changes will purge your body of toxins to allow the nutrients to be utilized and it will also boost your metabolic rate.

Lose Belly Fat Rule #3 - Drink water. If you already drinking water, drink more. Water is vitally necessary in toxin removal as well as getting fat moving and flushing it out of the body.

Lose Belly Fat Rule #4 - Cardio constitutes as an effective means of reducing belly fat, provided you keep it within reason. Losing belly fat with cardio is a tool, not the sole answer as many people may think. Doing 20-30 minutes of high intensity interval training three to five times a week is sufficient to boosting your metabolic rate and burning fat.

Lose Belly Fat Rule #5 - Abdominal exercises are wonderful in building a strong midsection. When you build stronger abdominal muscles you will look and feel better, improve posture, and alleviate lower back pain. You can do a wide array of various forms of crunches up to 4 times a week.

Lose Belly Fat Conclusion The bottom line about how to get rid of belly fat is not by investing tons of money into fancy gadgets, expensive pills, and starving oneself, but it's in nourishing the body, purging the impurities and exercising.

You won't have a model-ready body by tomorrow, but in time you will lose the belly fat and keep it off.

Now that you have the TRUTH about how to banish unsightly belly fat, use this information to your advantage and you will be unstoppable.

Easy Steps to Get Rid of Belly Fat

Wondering about how to get rid of belly fat? Millions of people are probably in the same position as you. When people talk about fat loss, they are usually referring to belly fat loss. Belly or visceral fat is among the most prominent markers of an out-of-shape body, and so most people focus on it in particular when working on a diet plan for achieving their ideal body. To be sure, this is not just about image, high levels of belly fat have been associated with higher chances of cardiovascular diseases as well as diabetes. Hence, there is more to merely improving one's looks than just the desire to get rid of belly fat.

It is possible to burn belly fat with a smart diet and moderate exercise. Taking up the diet part of that equation means reducing the number of calories you take in, first of all. On average, a reduction of about 500 calories per day is recommended. This permits you to still eat and feel as though you are eating more or less the same amount while experiencing a pound's loss per week if you stick to the regime carefully. Whatever reduction you do make, be certain that you do not drop your daily caloric intake below 1500 calories a day. Below that value, your metabolism begins to malfunction and slow down and your body shall experience nutrient shortage.

You should also stick to the time-tested adage of eating a lot of fiber. A great deal of research has shown that fiber is linked to efficient fat loss, so you should take a lot of it to get a better chance of eliminating excess fat from your body. Fiber is also good for your digestive system.

Next, you may want to get rid of the processed foods in your home. Not only are these loaded with fats, they are also full of sodium, and sodium has been linked to higher instances of heart disease. Furthermore, you can actually end up feeling fat because of the water retention that is caused by having too much sodium in the diet: a lot of the flab in your belly is actually water that your body is retaining. Bringing down salt intake can give you immediate results and make you feel trimmer faster.

Finally, incorporate some basic fat loss exercises in your daily schedule. This does not need to be intense; scientists have found that moderate exercise generally produces the same results as intense exercise. Add a long walk or daily jog to complement your diet and you should be seeing results in no time, in your effort to get rid of belly fat.

Do you know belly fat is worse than other fat?
Do you know belly fat is linked to heart disease, hypertension and cancer?
Do you know you really can eat more and still shrink your belly?

5 Steps On How To Lose Belly Fat

Many people are plagued with that ugly, hard to get rid of belly fat. No matter how hard you try it seems to stay.

When you have a lot of body fat to shed, your midsection fat will be fairly quick to melt away. This happens up to a point. Then you get stuck with the final deposits of unsightly midriff fat which are tough to get rid of.

Keeping belly fat not only looks bad but it's also very bad for your health. It's the internal body fat, called visceral fat, that is actually dangerous to your health. It surrounds your vital organs and produces chemical changes that can pose a serious health risk.

Additionally, visceral fat pushes against your vital organs, and on the outside makes your clothes fit too tightly. It can make you feel miserable.

But for those who have tried in vain to rid themselves of belly fat there is a way. So let's dive deeper into how you too can get rid of your stubborn midsection fat.

5 Natural Fat Fighting Ways To Get A Flat Belly.

1. Get Enough Sleep

As simple as it seems, a good night rest can help fight body fat. When we get less than seven hours of sleep your body starts to function against you producing fat building hormones that causes belly fat.

2. Work Out Before You Eat Breakfast

This is a great way to wake up in the morning and studies show that working out early in the morning burns more fat than any other time of the day.

Also, in the morning your body is full of energy, which makes your workouts more productive. As a bonus, the physical activity makes you feel a sense of euphoria. What a great way to start your day.

3. Load Up On Fiber

Eating more fiber is a great way to get rid of fat. Health care professionals know that fiber helps reduce visceral fat which can cause your belly to always look and feel bloated.

4. Get Rid Of Stress

When your body is stressed it releases cortisol which makes you hungry and causes you to eat more. This is one of the main reasons why people take on body fat.

To relieve stress take a walk or practice deep breathing exercise. The right kind of music can also be very soothing, and can be your companion during your power walks.

5. Stay Away From Junk Food

Junk food includes sugary sodas. Many snack foods like potato chips contain trans-fat which is a great way to pack on the pounds.

Instead of eating foods that contain trans-fat eat natural foods that contain fiber like apples or carrots in between meals. They are delicious, they will keep you from getting hungry, and will certainly contribute to your weight loss.

The best weight loss advice you can follow is a gradual change towards a healthy lifestyle. That's what these basic belly fat loss tips will bring you.

A gradual change in lifestyle is what will keep you lean and healthy long-term.

How to Get a Flat Belly Fast at Home

A lot of people believe that in order to get rid of stomach fat and get flat abs, you need heavy fitness equipment and a gym membership. While these things can certainly help, they're not essential. You can get a flat belly fast at home with minimal equipment as long as you have the right knowledge, the right mindset, and follow a sound eating plan.

The right knowledge

A lot of people want to flatten their abs but most fail. This isn't for lack of trying but for lack of knowledge. If you don't know how to workout effectively and eat in the right way, you will never lose belly fat and tone your abs. Invest in knowledge first and equipment later.

The right equipment

To get a flat belly at home you do need some equipment. This shouldn't be an ab machine and nothing else but equipment to help you tone your entire body. The reason for that is that you can't have flat abs if the rest of your body isn't toned. Our body is a single unit. You need to get fit all over to help you burn off more fat and get toned.

The right equipment can be dumbbells, jumping rope (to do cardio), fitness step (to do jumps), a mat to do crunches,a fitness DVD set to show you exercises and motivate you, and workout bands. You don't have to get all of these things, but some of them can certainly help.

The right eating plan

If you have the right knowledge, you will also know how to eat right. To do that, I recommend getting an abs program which includes both fitness and dietery guidelines. Some tips are:

Cook your food yourself and avoid take-out and restaurants as much as possible
Increase consumption of fruit and vegetables
Avoid starchy food like white bread, regular pasta, white rice, and so on.
Drink a lot of water.
Avoid artificial sweeteners. They're mostly bad for your health
Eat multiple times a day

If you eat right and workout right, your metabolism will increase, you will have more energy, you will burn more fat, and you will get a flat belly at home.

3 Unusual Tips To Lose Stomach Fat And Get Flat Abs Fast

When you think of 3 unusual tips to lose stomach fat and get flat abs, what do you picture? Most would say a gadget or 10 min routine you can do everyday that will pop a couple abs on your belly?

Am I right?

Well, I'm not going to do that. In fact, I'm going to give you some pretty bare and, yes, unusual tips to lose that stomach fat. The first comes in the form of eating high amounts of good fats. Now, what I'm going to say might be a little controversial maybe even a little edgy but follow me here...

Eating whole eggs and fatty meats don't make you fat. In, fact they do the exact opposite. Take for example whole eggs, preferably the Omega 3 eggs, are one of the most nutritious foods in the planet.

They are loaded with proteins, amino acids and lots of vitamin E. Plus many more nutrients and minerals that would take a whole other page to explain. And the myth about egg yolks raising cholesterol is true... They raise your good cholesterol! Your body needs cholesterol to operate if you don't feed it cholesterol your body will create its own.

So eat your whole eggs frequently and you will see great results in losing stomach fat. Next big tip revolves around eating beef! Now, most beef is really unhealthy for you and contains hormones and all sorts of other junk! Don't fall into buying that junk, instead buy grass fed organic beef. Grass fed beef is very different in profile.

Grass fed beef has high amounts of CLA, which is a trans fat that is so effective at burning fat that supplement companies have started mass producing it and selling it all over the world. So add grass fed beef to your diet to lose stomach fat. My next unusual tip has to do weight lifting.

Don't do traditional ab exercises or any stomach exercises! Stick with lifting hard and heavy. Keeping your sets between 4 to 6 reps. This will stimulate the most muscle fibers possible. Which will build you a solid base of muscle fibers, sky rocketing your metabolism because muscle is the #1 factor in how many calories your metabolism will burn.

All these unusual tips are very non-traditional but they all serve one purpose, to raise your metabolic rate so you burn tons of calories after you are done working out for days, weeks and months. Allowing you to lose stomach fat and finally get some flat abs.

I prepared a valuable report on how you can use simple tactics, like these, to lose stomach fat quick. Without strict dieting or crazy workout routines, visit: http://TheLoseBellyFatSolution.com

4 Steps To a Flatter Stomach

For a large portion of the community out there, the notion of achieving a sculpted midsection is an extremely daunting task.

Fear not however. The process is far from impossible. All it takes is the drive and determination to reach that end goal.

Follow the four sections listed below, and you will no doubt be well on your way to fantastic looking abs.

First and Foremost: The Diet:

The word 'diet' is a terrifying term for most out there, but you must understand that the only way to bring the musculature into view is to burn away the fat that is currently hiding it. Focus points on your diet should include cutting down, if not eliminating completely, on items such as fast foods, processed sugars, sodas, etc.

Meals should be divided out amongst the day into 5 or 6 smaller meals. Lean proteins should replace the fattier cuts of meat, and complex carbohydrates (brown rice, oats, whole wheat pasta, etc.) should be favored over their processed counterparts. To satisfy the cravings for sweets, look towards the natural sugars that various fruit have to offer.

These simple dietary changes, coupled with the desire to reach your goal, whatever it may be, will have the most prevalent impact on overall fat loss.

Second: Get Out and Get Moving!:

This could be (lightly) taken as fact, but I am fairly certain that we all hate the treadmill for one particular reason or another. So, if you find that you cannot stand staring at the wall, the mirror, the person in front of you, etc. for 40 minutes at a time, it's probably time to hit the great outdoors.

There is no better way to burn the belly fat to expose those abs than to get out and get moving. Take a brisk walk, go for a jog, play basketball or even hit the pool. As long as your activity of choice keeps your heart rate up for an extended time, you'll be benefiting from the cardiovascular workout in more ways than one

Third: The Spot Toning Myth:

I make this last point for simple reason alone: No matter how many crunches or sit-ups you do, it is not going to give you the definition in the abdominal muscles that you are after.

Abdominal exercises may be helpful for your stomach muscles, but they will do little overall when it comes to burning belly fat.

I wouldn't avoid crunches and sit-ups altogether - I simply wouldn't rely on these exercises as the sole method in developing a toned midsection.

Lastly: Set a Goal and Keep It!:

For most people, this is ultimately the single biggest point of failure. This lifestyle change cannot and will not happen overnight. You cannot get discouraged here. It takes an average of 3 weeks to break the body of an unhealthy habit. If you stick with your personal program, and can overcome the 3 week barrier, just imagine the results 3 months down the road. The desire to achieve and to better one's self should be all of the driving force you need to succeed.

Flattening Your Stomach in Four Easy Steps

You look at it every day and wish it would just go away; that little pouch below your belly button that keeps staring back at you. You do crunches, sit ups, the works, and yet there it is just "hanging around." There are all sorts of cute names for it: snack pouch, spare tire, love handles, and the list goes on. All you know is that you want it gone.

The American Council on Exercise calls the bicycle one of the most effective ab exercises out there. This exercise is one of many that should be completed as part of a lifestyle change which includes both diet and exercise. Just doing ab exercises all day will not get rid of the excess fat that you have around your waistline.

The following four areas of diet and exercise will help you gain the toned, flat stomach that you are craving.

1. Fat Intake

How much fat is in your diet? The American Food Pyramid says that a healthy diet is one that "Emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat milk and milk products, includes lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts, and is low in saturated fats, trans fats, cholesterol, salt (sodium), and added sugars.

Following the food pyramid will help you find the fats you need in good foods like nuts and plant oils as opposed to potato chips and ice cream. You should be taking in less than 30% of your caloric intake from fat so check your labels when you're purchasing packaged products. Many products now have the trans fats listed as well, so you can see which percentage of fat belongs to which group; saturated, non-saturated, trans, etc.

2. Carbohydrate Intake

Maybe your friends were on lo-carb diets and were amazed at the weight they lost. Maybe you tried one too? Carbohydrates are amazing in that each molecule attracts four water molecules to it and they hang out together inside your muscles. When you start decreasing the amount of carbohydrates you take in, you start to see weight loss in the form of fat loss. Oops, I mean WATER loss. No more carbs means no more four molecules of water hanging on, means lower numbers on the scale. Carbohydrate intake is essential for brain activity as well as muscle function. Our bodies feed off of glucose and glycogen which is supplied directly by carbohydrates. Eating whole wheat and whole grain is the way to go- stay away from white products; rice, pasta, bread, etc. Brown is best. Carbohydrate intake should be no more than 65% of your diet.

3. Cardiovascular Exercise

Running, cycling, swimming, aerobics; they are all using oxygen and so the prime energy source comes from muscle glycogen and fatty acids. The furnace is on and it's burning fat. You may have heard that cardio is good for burning fat, and that is true. Cardio exercise should be done for a minimum of 20 minutes and hopefully for longer and should be done at least three times per week, hopefully more. According to the American Council of Sport Medicine, "If weight loss is your major goal, participate in your aerobic activity at least 30 minutes, for five days each week."

You can't melt fat off of one area specifically, but it will come off over the whole body in time. We all lose fat from different places first. Just remember that cardio is a complement to the diet and the floor work that will also do.

4. Floor Work

Abdominal exercises were once believed to be something we could do everyday. We now know that the abdominals are like any other muscle and they need time to recover and rest.

Floor work is an essential component in getting a toned tummy. There are four main abdominal muscles that we can work: the rectus abdominus, which runs from the sternum to the pubic bone, the transverse abdominus which runs horizontal all around the torso connecting near the spine, and there are the obliques- internal and external which run alongside our ribs in opposite directions.

Exercises:

Hip lifts:

Lye on your back with your legs straight up in the air. Keep your back pressing into the floor and think about tightening a belt around your waist. Slowly pull your belly button to the floor and as you do so, feel your hips lifting gently off the floor as your legs are lifted. Do not lift with the legs, but instead with the abdominals. Repeat 10-15 times.

The Plank:

Facing the floor, get on your hands and knees, keeping your shoulders over your hands. Straighten out your body and keep your toes on the floor. You should be straight like a board with your abs pulling in tight. Breathe in and out naturally. Hold for up to one minute. Repeat 4-5 times.

The Bicycle:

Lye on your back with you knees bent. Slowly pull your upper body off the floor and support your head with your hands. Activate your abs by pulling your belly button to the floor and release any pelvic tilt. Take one shoulder and turn your torso to face your opposite knee. Go to the other side. Think of riding a bicycle as you turn slowly from side to side. Repeat for 20 repetitions.

Double Leg Drop:

Lye on your back with your legs straight up in the air. Keep your back pressing into the floor and think about tightening a belt around your waist. Keeping your abs pulled in at all times, slowly drop your legs toward the floor, keeping them pressing together. If you feel your back begin to arch, pull your legs back to the starting point. Inhale on the way down, exhale on the way up. Only go as far as you are comfortable with and go slowly. Repeat 10 times.

Diet and exercise are the only ways to get to your goals and they need to become part of a new lifestyle if you're going to maintain the body you want. Quick fixes, pills, drinks, diets, etc are only good for short term and could have long term effects that don't equate to your ultimate goals.

Lose Weight - 2 Quick Flat Stomach Tip

If you've tried everything under the sun to get rid of your belly fat, but failed each time. Before you throw in the towel, read this article first. Honestly, there's been way too much bad information being pass around about abdominal fat loss. I am going to share 2 simple things that will shed abdominal fat fast. Take a couple minutes to read this article and learn 2 basic things that will drop belly fat at warp speed.

Lose weight - 2 quick flat stomach tip

1. Resistance band swings

Don't fall prey to those over-hyped, costly ab gadget infomercials. Why? Because they are junk. You will not lose any stomach fat by rocking back and forth on some costly gadget. Trust me in this, ab gadgets do not work as they are portrayed on these midnight commercials. One of the best exercise that stimulates fat loss near your belly is resistance band swings. You can do this exercise by standing on a single exercise band and then pullingthe band towards your midsection.

When you pull the band towards you, the motion puts extreme tension on the abs, particularly in the lower abdominal area. The movement not only works the abdominal muscle, but it also penetrates other muscle groups like legs, chest, and shoulders.

2. Don't neglect protein with your meals

This is super easy. If you eat protein with each meal, you will cause the carbs that was eaten to have no negative effect on your body. This means that the protein will block out the blood sugar spike that leads to weight gain. So if you plan on eating a meal that's loaded with carbs, make sure that you're consuming protein as well.

These 2 tips will gradually decrease the bulge around your stomach, while giving you a spike in energy.

Toned Tight Abs Vs a Simple Flat Stomach

I use to think that getting great abs was all about doing crunches. For years fitness experts have been teaching us not to do sit-ups, but crunches are the way to get six pack abs. I use to buy all of the popular ab machines you see on the infomercials thinking that I would get a good ab workout and a nice flat stomach. Well guess what? I was wrong.

I had been on a weight loss roller coaster for years, and back in 2003 I learned how to naturally speed up my metabolism and keep the weight off for good from Tom Venuto. As a matter of fact, my metabolism increased so much that I was eating junk food several times throughout the week yet I was still able to burn body fat.

The problem was that no matter how much fat I lost, I had never been able to get tight abs. Yes my abs had definition and was flat, but I wasn't satisfied with that. I had fat covering the muscles, and the definition was just a basic outline of the defined great abs that lied beneath.

Recently I was introduced to Mike Geary and his The Truth about Six Pack Abs program and now I finally understand what my problem was - I had been focusing too much attention on ab crunches. Crunches are excellent for building strong core strength, but terrible for getting abdominal definition.

The other problem was the junk food. I thought that I could eat anything I wanted because I was just going to burn it off anyway, but when it comes to abdominal fat that's simply not the case. In order to lose a large percentage of abdominal fat and have your abdominal muscles show, you must have good eating habits. I am a living testimony of that fact. I don't care how much fat you lose or how toned any other part of your body is, without eating properly, you will never get great abs.

Mike had taught me the truth about how the soy milk (which I thought was healthy) I was drinking was actually helping me to store abdominal fat, and how multi joint free weight exercises were better ab workouts than ab crunches. As a matter of fact, doing push-ups and squats burn abdominal fat faster than crunches. Don't believe me? Try it and see.

If you really want toned flat abs with plenty of definition you must adopt the right eating habits, avoid food that help you to store fat (ie soy protein), and do multi joint free weight exercises.
